I invite you to “culture-up” two different ways:
BackBeat City’s year-end production, Learn Love V, is being produced for the 5th year in a row (hence the “V”). According to those in the know, “This ain’t your typical recital! This is a PRODUCTION! A SPECTACLE! A FEAST OF ENTERTAINMENT!”
Lisa Thibodeaux is currently taking orders for tickets – please see below for details. (FYI, Lisa’s daughter Gabbi is in BackBeat, which will be performing in the two 7:30 pm shows.)
The Learn Love shows are held at MPAC (Middletown Performing Arts Center), a state-of-the-art, multimillion dollar theater! Sound and lighting is done by professional folks that also work at Foxwoods. This event is a treat – don’t miss out!
Please let Lisa know how many tickets you would like to order. You may email her at firstname.lastname@example.org .
About Learn Love: As our students grow older their talent becomes even more exceptional. Our annual Learn Love production features our four show choirs in all their glory. This year’s performance will feature two types of shows, an evening show for BackBeat and BackLash and an afternoon youth show for BeBop and BeatBox. For first-time audience members, prepare to be engaged and entertained as students sing with feeling and skill beyond their years.

Michael Korman (former GC accompanist) has invited us to a concert he is doing to raise money for his trip to Austria this summer. Michael will be studying vocal accompaniment at the American Institute of Musical studies (http://www.aimsgraz.com/).
The concert will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday, 6/16/12, at the Unitarian Society of Hartford. Also performing will be Rebekah Butler, violin; Allison Holst-Grubbe (also a former GC accompanist), soprano; Mary Matthews, flute; and Michael McDermott, baritone. Featuring solo and collaborative works by Poulenc, Chaminade, Schubert, and Brahms. Proceeds will support tuition for Michael’s attendance at the American Institute for Musical Studies (AIMS), a six-week summer program in Graz, Austria, where he will attend as a collaborative piano student. This is sure to be a wonderful concert!
